There are stunning beaches nearby. Equally magnificent are the region’s snorkeling and coral-reef diving. The Islas del Rosario lie some 30 km offshore and are worth a night or two. This archipelago of tiny coral islands provides some of the most spectacular snorkeling in Colombia.
Bocagrande Bocagrande beach is some 10 minutes by bus from the town centre. Sand and sea can be dirty on busy days - and you shouldn't count on being alone here.
Marbella Marbella beach is just north of Las Bovedas and is much quieter than Bocagrande. The undertow can be dangerous, however.
Playa Blanca On the Isla Baru. The easiest way of getting here is to take one of the boat trips to the Islas del Rosario and ask to be dropped of (and picked up again!) on the way.
